  1. Dear Lauren and Cormac,

Good afternoon. My name is J.L. My wife and me are due to move to Malabo in a few months. After the first surprise, I began to search for information about the place. This is how I found your useful and interesting blog. It helped us a lot to figure out how our lifes will be in Malabo. Like you, I am also a diplomat and this is my first post abroad.

We were trying to know if it is possible to have a good internet service at home. Do you recommend any solution or any internet firm in Malabo?

Thank you very much for your blog.

    Best regards,

    J.L.

    • JL,
Glad you found the blog helpful! There are a few options for internet, depending on where you end up living. HITS and GECOMSA both offer hot spots , and IPX offers a more standard internet service package. They are all shockingly expensive compared to prices in the USA.

Good luck with the move! Feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have.

      Lauren

  2. Hi Lauren and Cormac,

I’m a senior editor at World Trade Press, a publishing and digital media resources company in California. We create educational and travel websites, and are in the process of upgrading our AtoZWorldCulture product. We were wondering if you would be interested in compiling and writing 20 Equatoguinean proverbs for us in Spanish, French, and Portuguese. In exchange, we will pay you by the word, provide author attribution on our site, link directly to your blog or other website, and offer a free one-year subscription to AtoZWorldCulture.

    Best,
    Hope

    • Hope,

Thank you for the offer, but I’m afraid we are under qualified to take on such a project. I’m sure there are a lot of great proverbs out there waiting to be discovered though! Best of luck.
