And he’s DONE!

Cormac went down to Raleigh last week to defend his thesis.  He gave a 45 minute or so presentation on his project, then was questioned by his panel for an hour and a half.  Yikes!  He was well prepped and passed his defense with flying colors!  He budgeted two days for making final edits on his paper after the defense, but really only needed a few hours.  Thank the Lord, we are DONE with school!!

The mood in our house got so much lighter when he came back from his defense.  For the past year of our lives, one of us “should have been working on our thesis…”  And now, neither one of us has that task looming in the back of our minds.  This weekend, we were free to do whatever we wanted, and not feel guilty about it!  It was absolutely fantastic.  And fun.

So now Cormac has shifted his focus to job hunting.  He’s exploring possible opportunities with some of the nonprofits and research groups in Equatorial Guinea, and will be working with his adviser to get his thesis published.  So, if you happen to know someone with a need for a forester in EG, let us know!
